The demand for re-poll in Karachi under military supervision is becoming louder by the day, say many dailies. PML-N, PTI, JUI, and MQM are making the demand amongst other parties. There is wide speculation on who could form the new government in KP, and Balochistan with scales tilted in favour of PTI in alliance with JuI-F or JI in KP and in favour of PML-N and its local allies in Balochistan.

INDIA
1. Munir Ahmed Baloch says five years after the 26/11 Mumbai attack few circles in Pakistan have   started talking of forming a commission on the case as Indian version of the attack is being disputed increasingly.  (Roznama Dunya)

2. Nawa-i-Waqt editorial says that the new government will have many challenges to face and that people have high hope in Nawaz Sharif. It opines that the Government should decide its priorities including electricity crisis and should be careful in relations with India. (Nawa-i-Waqt Edit)

UNITED STATES
1. Columnist Gulam Hussain Lagari says though Nawaz Sharif has been speaking against the US and its intelligence agencies,  he can hope to complete his term just as PPP did only if   he frames his policies in consultations with them,  This calls for deftness on the part of Nawaz Sharif and he may not have any friendly opposition this time from PTI, PPP or MQM. TERRORISM & EXTREMISM
1. Dawat programmes continued across the country under Al Rahmat Trust. Congregations were held in 2 divisions. Dars-e-Quran was held at Rawalpindi for women and Ghazat-e-Nabi conference was held at Hazur, whereas Paigham-e-Shohda Conference was held in Mansehra district and Shohda-e-Conference was organized at Bafa. Two student conventions were held under aegis of Al Murabitun on the topic of jihad. At all the programmes Ulema spoke on the principles of Islam, objectives of jihad and its significance. More and more people are attending these meetings. (Al Qalam Weekly, 10-16 May)

POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS
1. PPP chief Zardari has not called Nawaz Sharif to congratulate and Imran Khan has alleged poll rigging and talked of issuing a white paper. (Jang)

2. PML-N central leader and former opposition leader Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has alleged that the role of establishment had not ended in Pakistan and added that coalition with PTI is possible. (Khabrain)

3.  JI Secretary Gen Liyaqat Baloch said that his party will play a constructive role in the formation of the government in KP and was in contact with PTI and other parties. He said that they accept the mandate given by the people and admit defeat and stated that they will learn from their defeat. Liyaqat Baloch demanded re-elections in Karachi and Hyderabad and stated that they were considering going to court on legal and constitutional grounds. (Jasarat)

4. Ummat edit on poll results says, no major incident of terrorism took place though Taliban had held out grave threats. This indicates that the country does not have threat from the real Taliban but from those who carry out destructive activities in the name of Taliban. Edit writes PPP was defeated because of its inabilities and corruption. Edit writes that ANP has accepted that it was wiped out because of zero performance and writes that MQM has maintained its position in the province and NA, but that was a separate issue to discuss later. Edit writes that establishing law and order would be the main challenge for Nawaz Sharif and states that PML-N will have to struggle against chaos to improve the economy and Nawaz Sharif will have to make a strategy to end chaos in Karachi. 5.  Jasarat compares the election of 2008 and 2013 and says that in both elections people have rejected the ruling party. In 2008 people rejected policies of Musharraf and this time people rejected alliance of three parties which continued pro-American policies thar were destructive for Pakistan. (Jasarat Edit)

6. Jang editorial says despite efforts from all political parties and law enforcing agencies, the Election Commission has failed to come up to public expectations. ECP secretary himself admitted that the EC failed to hold free and transparent elections in Karachi, it would have been better not to hold election in Karachi rather than having poll rigging. Edit writes that even in Khyber Agency, Mansehra and Lakki Marwat, women were not allowed to vote; 11000 women could not exercise their right to vote. Edit states that in Sindh 63 people were killed in different incidents of firing, blasts and election aggression and in Lahore, PTI members fired at PML-N members. (Jang-Edit)

ECONOMY-WATER- ENERGY
1. Roznama Dunya edit says PML-N in Punjab and Centre, PPP in Sindh and PTI in KP should make serious efforts to increase energy production, control inflation and get rid of terrorism. (Roznama Dunya Edit)

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWAH (NWFP/FATA)
1. Spokesperson of JI Asrarullah said on a private TV that Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif and Fazlur Rehman have contacted JI Chief Syed Munawar Hasan for formation of government in KP and stated that Provincial Executive Committee of JI will take a decision onr which party to support in KP. (Jasarat)

SINDH
1. JI Sindh Chief Dr Mehraj-ul-Huda demanded that COAS Gen Kayani and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftekhar Muhammad Chaudhury should take notice of the threat issued by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain to separate Karachi and stated that Altaf Hussain will be responsible for whatever takes place in Karachi as a consequence of his statements. Huda said that by the use and force of weapons, elections were not allowed to take place freely in Karachi and alleged that re-election should be announced in Karachi and Hyderabad. Another report states that political parties and NGOs have condemned the statement of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain about the separation of Karachi. (Jasarat)
2. President of Human Rights Network Karachi Alam Suri demanded re-election under the supervision of the army in Karachi and claimed that massive rigging took place in Karachi. Suri said that administration and Election Commission were silent spectators in Karachi. (Ummat)
3. Shabir Labari says though most Sindihs were upset with PPP for their anti-Sindh decisions like controversial civic system and the sale of two islands of Karachi, they have voted PPP to power once again.  (Awami Awaz)

BALOCHISTAN
1. IG Police Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhair said 2000 Kg explosives were used in bomb blast that targeted a mini truck in Quetta. (Ummat)   
2. Overall turn out in Balochistan was 40%; while it was 63% in Pashtun areas it was 20% in Baloch dominating areas, according to the Provincial Election Commission. (Jasarat)

POK/ G-B NEWS
1. JI (AJK) Chief Abdul Rashid Turabi has asked Nawaz Sharif to do his part for the resolution of the Kashmir issue and try to take out Pakistan from crises with consensus. (Baad-e-Shimal, Nawa-i-Waqt)

2. JKLF leader Yasin Malik congratulated PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and urged India and Pak rulers to resolve Kashmir issue instead of leaving it to a new generation. (Daily Dharti)

3. Gilgit-Baltistan CM Mehdi Shah said that his party would retaliate if any effort was made to pull it down in the wake of PML–N’s victory in Pakistan. (Bang-e-Sahar, Baad-e-Shimal)

4. Daily Dharti edit urges the government to fulfil the expectations of the Kashmiri people. It asked the new regime to end the culture of appointing advisors and coordinators in AJK at huge cost to the exchequer. (Daily Dharti Edit)

5. Baad-e-Shimal says that everyone in GB expects that PML-N would not try to dislodge Mehdi Shah Government in an undemocratic way. It adds that the GB assembly should also be allowed to complete its term. (Baad-e-Shimal Edit)

6. Bang-e-Sahar welcomed the defeat of PPP and said people of GB hope for better days  under PML-N. were hopeful for better days in the future. (Bang-e-Sahar Edit)
