Editor of leading Chiness business magazine resigns
Chief Editor of leading Chinese business magazine, Caijing has resigned. Hu Shuli (56) has built her reputation on investigative journalism. During her 11-year stewardship, Caijing exposed government corruption and corporate fraud.
In recent months the ruling Chinese Communist Party has brought to bear on the management pressures to rein in Hu. At one point, the management was even ordered to fire her bringing things to a boil at Caijing.
Many leading journalists have also quit or preparing to leave, reports quoting the magazine employees said.
Hu is expected to join as the dean of the journalism school at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou.
