Maoist road blockade hit normal life in Nepal
The Nepali Maoists are back at their agitational best. They blocked all roads leading to Kathmandu for the second day on Nov 10.
The protest was against the reappointment of an army chief whom they had sacked.
Interestingly, that army chief has since retired and a new one has taken his place.
Maoist cadres staged demonstrations in entry points including Nagdhunga, Sanga, Pharping and Baipass.
Vehicles other than ambulances were not allowed to enter the valley. Bus passengers were forced to walk the distance to the city. The blockade also hit bus passengers heding out of Kathmandu.
